The Lakers defeated the Magic 99-86 tonight to claim the NBA Finals (series won 4-1). This win gave Kobe his first Finals victory without Shaq (but he did have Gasol). Kobe lead the Lakers with 30 points, while Rashard Lewis lead the Magic with 18 and Dwight Howard with only 11. This was a close series with overtimes and game-deciding shots untill the end when the Lakers take the '09 title with a 13 point victory!
Last night the Yankees played the Mets in a rivalry game. In the bottom of the 9th inning the Mets were up 8-7 with 2 outs with runners on first and second, A-Rod up to bat. On the 3-1 pitch A-Rod popped the ball straight up into the air towards deep 2nd. At first the game seems to put a loss in the Yankees record, but suddenly 2nd baseman Luis Castillo drops the pop-up allowing both runners to score and the Yankees to win. Watch the video here.
Pengiuns defeat the Red Wings 2-1 in what many would consider as an upset. The Pengiuns were able to overcome the absense of their star player, Sindey Crosby, and defeat most likely the "highest rated" team in the NHL. This victory made Crosby the youngest captain to win a Stanley Cup.
Micheal Vick was just cut from the Atlanta Falcons after just recently being released from jail from the "dog incident". Now Vick is up for signing for any team, but will any one sign him with his criminal record? Maybe the Dallas Cowboys will....
Last night The Kansas City Royals played the Cleaveland Indains. In the bottom of the 10th inning, the score 3-3, the Indaians hit a short liner towards centerfield. The ball hit a seagull that was hanging out in centerfield, giving the ball an awkward bounce away from Coco Crisp, allowing the Indians to score the game winning run.
Last night the lakers won their 3 game in the NBA finals 99-91 over the Orlando Magic. This was made possible by, of course, Kobe Bryant's 32 point game, but there was also another huge contributer to the game, Derek Fisher. He hit 2 cluch 3 pointer to help the Lakers, one sent the game into overtime and the other gave the Lakers the lead in the overtime period. Now the Lakers are just 1 win away from winning the NBA Finals.
